Hi, I´m from germany in the states for an internship. Unfortunately my Iphone got wet today and seems to be broken. I would like to buy a new one but I m only staying in America for another 3 months and I am worried, that it wont work properly in germany. Maybe anybody has experience with this problem. Thanks a lot!
Please be aware that if you purchase the iPhone in the US, you will not have warranty support for it back in Germany.

There are cheaper solution for the short term.
I just spoke to a guy from the apple support and he told me that there is 1 year of warranty worldwide for the iphone if you buy it simlock free in an apple store.

That is not what the documentation published by Apple says. It appears that there are Apple employees that don't bother read what Apple publishes. Either that or they are just to anxious to make a sale.
Personally, I don't trust what you have been told.
Read the document linked below and you will notice it states the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase.
